Policy for noise and cell phone use at Zalk Veterinary Medical Library

Policy for noise and cell phone use at Zalk Veterinary Medical Library

Scope of Policy

The mission of the Zalk Veterinary Medical Library is to advance human and animal health. Supporting Mizzou’s College of Veterinary Medicine, the Zalk Library provides a broad range of information resources and services essential to research, clinical practice, and the training of veterinarians. As such, the library staff intends to maintain a professional environment for serious study and research.

General Policy

  • As the only academic library on East Campus, we ask that all users join us in collaborating to maintain the inclusive environment of quiet focus and deep learning that the ZVML has become known for.
  • All users are expected to keep their voices low when speaking.
  • Silence all electronic devices upon entering. If you receive a call, please take your conversation outside the library. It is easy for your conversations to become louder and longer than you intend, and library users do not wish to overhear them.
  • If you are disturbed by another library user, please report it to a member of the ZVML staff. A peaceful and productive study environment can be maintained by the cooperative efforts of all library users, and library staff is here to help facilitate the process.
  • When the library is not staffed, it is up to library users to monitor one another.
